Book of books

This project looks at how urban systems shape behavior and how those behaviors leave traces over time. It takes the form of a single hand-sewn book made up of three volumes: Systems That Hold Us, Fragments on Urban Behavior, and Material Evidence of Society. The work moves from system to behavior to trace, treating the city as a structure that continuously records itself.

The three parts approach this from different angles. The first gathers visual fragments of urban systems that guide movement. The second brings in research and abstract studies to examine behavioral patterns shaped by those systems. The third documents ground traces through photographs I took along a repeated route, paired with short dictionary-style entries that frame each mark as a unit of evidence. The video shown here presents a selected portion of the book rather than the full sequence.
